Jail Release

When we are hired, we work to get clients reasonable bond for release. There are several bond types.

PROPERTY BOND – This is when a person (other than the arrested) posts their property (real estate such as a house) to get a person out of jail pending resolution of the case. The person who posts the bond is responsible for the attendance of the person at all of their court hearings. There is a “hold” placed on the property until the resolution of the case, meaning that it cannot be sold until the case is resolved.

CASH BOND – This is when a person posts cash for the entire amount of the bond. The bond amount is returned after resolution of the case.

SIGNATURE BOND - This is when a person signs bond paperwork promising that they will return for their court appearances. There is no cash needed for this type of bond.

BAIL BONDSMAN – This is when a professional bondsman is paid 10%-15% of the bond amount for the surety to sign that person out of jail. Once this amount is paid to the bondsman, the amount is not refundable.
